DCP Responds to Dr. Scratch on the MAD Board

Post by _Everybody Wang Chung »

From http://www.mormondialogue.org/topic/55654-my-malevolent-stalker/

Daniel Peterson wrote:It has often been suggested to me that, if I would simply cease engaging him, my Malevolent Stalker would drop his anonymous on-line crusade (now fully half a decade old) to criticize, malign, and defame me.

I have never believed this to be true.

In the past, I've sometimes been altogether gone from message boards (because I was traveling in distant and frequently obscure places, without much access to the Internet and very busy) for as long as six or seven weeks. But when I've returned from such expeditions, he's still been at it, without any slackening of his malignant and obsessive zeal.

Well, I've now been utterly gone from his home message board for a full week. I've deleted my account there.

This should be a good test of the notion that, if I stop responding to him, he'll stop slandering me.

So far, the results are not positive.

He's posted about me several times since I quietly left his board, and, just minutes ago, he launched an entirely new thread devoted to criticizing me.

(He once promised never to start another such thread. That was, needless to say, many such threads ago.)

Six or seven weeks? That's it? He's got a serious addiction.

Not that I don't too. :o

DCP doesn't appear to mention that as well as Scratch posting diabolical hurtfulness, there were questions about the quality of his scholarship, there were questions about Latin Shorthand and it's implications for the Book of Abraham and a plethora of other interesting and substantive items crying out for his apologetic input, all of which he ran away from.

Does he mention this in a different thread there?

I thought they didn't allow personal attacks over there? I'm referring, of course, to Schryver's attack on LDST.

Of course not. Scratch is, as always, a convenient excuse for him.

What an ugly and mean spirited-thread. Julianne should be ashamed and embarrassed.

Proof to the TBM and critic alike just how nasty the MAD Board can be.

Hey Dr. Scratch, keep your head up.

Don't forget the explanation that DCP owed us as to how any believing Mormon could honestly describe themselves as a rational empiricist (as DCP described himself on the Divining Rods and DCP thread).

Some of the folks over on the post mo board read the Divining Rods and DCP thread on MDB and were far less than impressed with DCP's behavior and performance.

You're just a faithless, anonymous hypocrite who can't see the fetid place in which you actually post.

Such courage you have; claiming to have a doctorate but attacking a known person with a professional reputation, and doing it anonymously.

You're absolutely right. I need to be less mean-spirited, less judgmental, more kind, more tolerant and more Christlike. Can you please show me how? You're a great example. :)
