I was listening to an audiobook called Denialism and was reminded of you. It talks about the anti-vaccination crowd, the anti-GM food crowd, the organic food crowd, the vitamin crowd, and lots of other stuff. I can't help but think much of that is near and dear to your interests.

Looks like a good read. I'll have to pick it up for something to read on my trip back to New York next week. It seems that airplanes are the only place I read non-professional material these days.

My personal opinion on the book is that it's not written as well as I would have liked--it seems to ramble on a bit at times. However, I do think some of the topics he covers are interesting and important to think about, especially in today's world. It's almost like we're entering a dark age of anti-science.

I especially like how he talked about our forefathers initially fearing but finally appreciating the importance of vaccination. Benjamin Franklin was a particularly good example--though he learned his lesson the hard way by losing a son.

ETA: My favorite book on the subject of biology and society was one you recommended: Finding Eden. Have any new recommendations? Sounds like you're busy with work--which is hopefully a good thing.
