Anyone know if this guy is on the level or is he just claiming to have been a Mormon Bishop?

Lame. Either he suffers from Fortigurn's Lazy Research or he's lying to cover up something else. In any case, he certainly laid a huge Buffalo Chip with this one.

Maybe he was offended. Maybe he wants to sin. Maybe he's going for a hat trick.

Never played hockey. What is the hat trick? If you wouldn't mind. Not the stone in the hat, please.

I watched the guys two videos. Bible salvation? A died in the wool Mormon? There's another shoe yet to drop.

Internet Mormon: Meet Disaffected Chapel Mormon.

Disaffected Chapel Mormon tells lies in an attempt to patch over his lack of Internet-derived sophistication.

Your dichotomy is completely true and not at all false in any way.

And, it's "either" case, rather than "any." We've already discounted any other than the two.

But my money is on straight-up lying.

EDIT: bcspace inspired a sig change. Check it out.

A hat trick is scoring three goals in a game. Mormons believe that people leave the church for one of three reasons.

1 - They were offended
2 - They committed a sin for which they don't want to repent
3 - They want to sin

The hat trick in this case would be all three.

It's is the Bishop's fault. He could have studied in rare and locked book collections and scoured the internet for actual versus faith-promoting history on his own and been inoculated to this new information ahead of time. He then could have visited the FAIR site as well as MDD and found explanatory answers as to it all makes sense in the end, just as long as he did not directly post his questions at MDD and risk being branded an apostate. That could have driven him out of the Church quick as a whistle.
