Do you REALLY THINK the Church wants to "defend" this CAN OF WORMS in the Media? NO WAY!!! Even when Members bring it up, they are told "see your bishop" and the bishop says: "Stop discussing this, or else!"

At best, LDS Public Affairs will issue a statment saying: "We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and our Savior...yahda yahda" but you'll never see them trying to answer the CAN OF WORMS above!

You could spend an entire discussion on how Mormon Jesus cannot fulfill the requirements of being without "spot or blemish" in order to qualify for the atonement.

Simply put:

By Mormon teachings Elohim (Mormon lower tier God No. ?) left his celestially married wives in Mormon heaven and came to earth planet number ? and had a physical sexual relationship with a Virgin of the Jewish race.

Mormon God Elohim was not "legally and lawfully" married to this Jewish girl and thus committed the sin of adultery and caused this Jewish girl to commit the sin of fornication.

Mormon God Elohim also committed the sin of coveting another's, for the Jewish Virgin was promised to an earthly man in accordance with Jewish law which He Himself established.

Therefore the best that Mormon Jesus can be is a Bastard child of an inattentive Mormon Man God who left his child alone to be raised by another and thus not worthy of ushering the atonement.

The typical non-Mormon won't really care about theological differences. The meat of religion is painfully boring to people. If any LDS spokesman talked to the media, it will be a heavy serving of milk. No anchor is going to want to delve into a theological debate with the 2 sides quoting scripture.

I can't imagine any news anchor bringing up most of those subjects. The media is usually fairly congenial towards religions, probably in our case because most people simply could care less about weird stuff that Mormon leaders taught in the 1800s. That's something for the History channel, not CNN.

If Romney gets the nomination and becomes a threat to beat Obama, the media will bring these up somehow some way. Perhaps some friends of a CBS employee will be directed to lead the charge ala the forged National Guard service papers about Bush.

I understand why you might want to call me out and paint me in a negative light by quoting me out of context from long ago. I get it, and I don't think any less of you for it. But why the aggressive posture toward Doctor Scratch, a well-meaning, aging professor who has recently been put on emeritus status at Cassius? You are young and have the whole world before you. You're taking on other young, red-blooded youth with fight in their bones at BYU; the second phase of the Student Review to be precise, and I just don't get how an invigorated young person would find satisfaction in beating down a man, now a senior citizen, who worked hard in his career to do what he thought was right, even though he might have made mistakes along the way.

I would indeed support Romney over Obama as I would support any Republican or other conservative candidate over Obama. But what makes you think I support Romney for the GOP nomination?

But it is nice to see that you too do not wish Obama to have a second term. But if he gets it because Romney goes down in a hail of antiMormonism, it's you who would share the blame, not me.
