This thread is to rant about the mission companions you had and tell some stories about them.

I had this one companion that was sooo hard to get a long with. He was transferred all the time cause other missionaries could not handle him. He had very strong opinions and if you didn't agree with him then he would get mad an want to beat you up. He would say stuff like how he would take his kids back to Mexico if the US government tried to stop him from hitting his kids. I asked him you mean like spanking. He was like no a good pounding if they needed to be taught a lesson.

We were getting a long so badly that I had to pick my battles or else we would be fighting all the time. He was from Mexico so he would not put the toilet paper into the toilet. I didn't tell him to do it cause I knew he wouldn't listen to me and we would've just ended up in a fight. I heard other people to tell him to do it and he just doesn't listen. Anyways, are garbage disposal broke and the person that came to fix it was one of the members of the ward. He had to use the bathroom while he was there and noticed the toilet paper. He came up to me and said does your companion not know that he can put the toilet paper in the toilet. I said I think he does but he won't listen to people. The member then told my companion that he can put toilet paper in the toilet.

After the member left my companion was like "can you believe that guy." I told my companion that everyone in the USA puts toilet paper in the toilet. The guy still didn't listen.

Anyways, this could be a fun thread. Let's hear some good stories of mission companions.

I have lots, but not a lot of time right now to share them all.

I will say, very briefly, that I had one interesting companion who liked to hang the Confederate flag over his bunk. He used to camp out in a tent in front of our cottage, also. Sometimes he became angry when people would slam the doors, and even cursed out one woman who did so as we walked away.

I had another companion who, prior to his mission, lived virtually full-time at Disneyland, carried around a lunchbox full of toys, wore spats with coulottes, and had (naturally) bright red hair that he wore in the style of "Colonel Guile" from "Street Fighter 2." All before the mission, though.

One of the missionaries in my zone was so effeminate that people would ask me later (after I had been on splits with him) whether he was gay. I could only say that I didn't think so, because I didn't think that the church allowed gay missionaries. I only recently looked him up on Facebook and... yup.

Two of my companions threatened to kill me. But, really, for the most part, they were a good bunch of guys, and they could probably tell a few stories about me, if asked, also. :)

The one senior companion I had who was Japanese was a real piece of work. Typical Japanese businessman type; he smiled as little as possible under the pretext that people would take him more seriously that way.

The mission president over the mission from which this guy hailed was a slick Japanese salesman who had brainwashed his missionaries (and apparently X number of the rank-and-file members, too, like my companion before he came to us) into thinking that any form of manipulation, strong-arming tactic, intimidation, etc. was a "skill" as long it got people into the water. So he did precisely that.

It drove me insane. Unfortunately, it was my goal to never complain about anything, so I didn't say anything to my mission president about it. Apparently this guy couldn't get along with any of his companions, and since I wasn't complaining the MP figured that we two were getting along O.K. and so he left us together for four months.
