Why are you here?

Post by _Mad Viking »

If this has been previously brought up... please forgive me.

I think I have a pretty good grasp on why the various non-believers come to boards like this. But I can only venture a guess as to why a believer would come here. I know why I would have come to a board like this back in my believing days (engage in vigorous debates with the goal of proving my opponents wrong). So... Why do you believers come here?

I come here because I'm eager to learn from other's perspective. I want to get a handle on the ideas and positions of people who think differently than I do. And I like to learn.

I briefly browsed this board when I was a believer, but beginning to experience doubts. I didn't stay because what I saw was too frightening for me. Too many topics that made me uncomfortable. I was trying to nurture some more faith.

Well I know that he has learned people miss read what he says. Oh and he miss reads what other people say all the time too.

Basically with Stem there is a lot of miss reading going on and it's just about impossible to have a normal discussion with him.

Wait Stem... aren't you here to be the board nanny?
