What Christian scripture, or Mormon scripture\revelation, does the LDS use to support the requirement for a "temple marriage/sealing and where do the temple worthiness requirements originate from - god or man?

Anybody know with authority?

Man inspired by God. For example, the need to make the WoW a requirement.

Please elaborate with specificity.  Could not find any meaningful support in either reference!

So I'm concluding, there really is no scriptural nor revelatory support to this Mormon practise either.

Seems quite specific to me.

There is Not anywhere within the Bible or the Book of Mormon where we read about anybody getting married inside a Temple.

Wedding ceremonies never occurred in the Jerusalem temple, yet this is a common practice in LDS temples.

marriages were to be performed in the temple? And why did the early Jews not get married here? If this was a custom of a good Jew, then why was a wedding held at Cana (notice, John 2:1 said it was a "marriage," not just a "reception") that Jesus apparently blessed by attending?

Yet, Here is what the late 13th LDS President Ezra Taft Benson Stated:

Understand that temple marriage is essential to your salvation and exaltation.

Temple Marriage is Not essential to your salvation.

I've never been able to get an answer on point to these questions either. Most, if not all, were like BC who provide irrelevant references and then run from the topic and questions.

I am persuaded to conclude that the entire temple marriage and temple worthy requirements are merely financial controls and forced loyalty through guilt that the Mormon church operates through. One would think if it had any historical claim we would find it in Judaism - somewhere!

Hi Joey,

Authority? No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night and there is no New Testament/Old Testament support for this.

Peace,
