The Bat, the Birds, and the Beasts
by Aesop
A great conflict was about to come off between the Birds and the Beasts. When the two armies were collected together the Bat hesitated which to join. The Birds that passed his perch said: "Come with us"; but he said: "I am a Beast."
Later on, some Beasts who were passing underneath him looked up and said: "Come with us"; but he said: "I am a Bird."
Luckily at the last moment peace was made, and no battle took place, so the Bat came to the Birds and wished to join in the rejoicings, but they all turned against him and he had to fly away. He then went to the Beasts, but soon had to beat a retreat, or else they would have torn him to pieces. "Ah," said the Bat, "I see now."
He that is neither one thing nor the other has no friends.

The Troll, the Giants, and the Ogres
by Fence Sitter
A great conflict was about to come off between the Giants and the Ogres. When the two armies were collected together the Troll hesitated which to join. The Giants that passed his cave said: "Come with us"; but he said: "I am a Ogre."
Later on, some Ogres who were passing by him looked in and said: "Come with us"; but he said: "I am a Giant."
Luckily at the last moment peace was made, and no battle took place, so the Troll came to the Giants and wished to join in the rejoicings, but they all turned against him and he had to run away. He then went to the Ogres , but soon had to beat a retreat, or else they would have torn him to pieces. "Ah," said the Troll, "I see now."
He that is neither one thing nor the other has no friends and lives in his mother's basement wearing light cotton.

You know, I'd like to be surprised you don't get the moral of a children's story. I really would.

I don't live in my mother's basement. But the 70's were great for young women wearing light cotton and a Mormon lay. Thanks for bringing back a couple of nice memories.

I wasn't reading aesop when I was a kid. I remember reading the story of Johnny Tremain in the 60's.

I doubt that any Mormons ever believed in the "Mormon lay", which is singularly against SWK's
The Miracle of Forgiveness, published around the same time you claim "the Mormon lay" was going on. Why me, any kind of petting, including "Mormon lays" as you describe them, were strictly forbidden by the Church. SWK even counseled against "French kissing", and you're seriously trying to tell me that it was "okay" for Mormon males to "feel up" females through their dresses in the name of the "Mormon lay"?
