The Church does not:Endorse, promote or oppose political parties, candidates or platforms.

Immigration, Prop 8, that's just recent history.

The Church does not:Attempt to direct or dictate to a government leader.

I've attended Mormon meetings and Mormon Leaders endorse Politicians regularly.

If a Politician doesn't follow Church Rules and Laws Members and Leaders mock them. So most follow your rules because they fear exile.

Elected officials who are Latter-day Saints make their own decisions and may not necessarily be in agreement with one another or even with a publicly stated Church position. While the Church may communicate its views to them, as it may to any other elected official,

A Mormon's time in Public Office typically lasts a few years, while their Membership or Relationship with Members usually lasts a lifetime.
