Mormon leaders sometimes command the use of porn

Back in the 1970s Church leaders authorized the use of "Aversion Therapy" to help homosexual men become heterosexual. This included the men being shown alternative scenes of hetero and homo porn. During the hetero porn the men were told to masturbate, but during the homo porn they received electrical shocks. The Church referred homosexual men to this program. I don't know how successful it was, but the Church later abandoned it.

Dear Fool (a.k.a. "turkey")

You probably think like this: The Church is True, therefore could NEVER do such a thing! Therefore, Daheshist must be LYING, because the Church leaders would NEVER do such a thing!Fool....the Church leaders have done FAR WORSE than this, I promise you! Brigham Young ordered people murdered, so having gay Mormon men get "shocked" while watching gay porn is not so horrible.

Ask "Affirmation" (Gay Mormons) and they'll tell you. Some of their members went through this treatment on "counsel" (read: "order") of their bishops.

Or, he could be thinking: Wow, that's an unusual and extraordinary claim, the sort of claim that I cannot assent to without compelling evidence in its favor. Daheshist hasn't offered any evidence in its favor besides merely asserting that it's true.

Even the apologists admit it happened, though they of course put their interesting spin on it (a two pronged argument: (a) the Church didn't do it, it was those rogue BYU professors and (b) lots of other people did it, too, so there).

I highly recommend the first link in that thread, Connell O'Donovan's story.

Sounds kinky. How would someone go about applying to be a test subject for this program? Hypothetically speaking of course.

Imagine a straight person being shocked while masturbating to straight porn but no shocks delivered when looking at gay porn. What would be the end result?

Dr. Shades? Do you care to comment?

If you want "evidence" of that, that Church leaders authorized bishops to "counsel" homosexual males (never females) to this Aversion Therapy" then contact "Affirmation" (gay Mormons) and ask them.

First post here.

Been reading here for quite a while.

I am a faithful Mormon.

I think Daheshist (sp?) is really scary. Is this guy for real? Or is this a Halloween joke?

I don't believe anything he says.
