That.was...interesting.

The message was don't lose your purse in church. Write your name on the outside of your belongings so they don't get rifled through. Don't ever take something to church that you don't want all your leaders to see.

Watching videos like that is always good for me. It reminds me of the schmaltzy crap that was a huge turn off of the church for me in the first place. I always come away from that crap feeling like I need a shower.

I think it's sad that there are young girls (or guys) out there writing down scriptures in a notebook like that's a noble and worthwhile use of time. What a waste of youth. Learn about the world the way it is now, not the supposed wisdom of people living in more ignorant times (or worse, the made up nonsense of Joe).

It's a nice object lesson, but I seriously doubt it's a true story. Maybe I'm being too cynical, but it's just too perfect. On the other hand, maybe I'm the last person to realize it's a fake story, LOL. I agree with Just Me, it seems kinda creepy that leaders would meticulously examine all the items in a lost purse. So what would've happened if, in addition to all the good things in her purse, they also found a condom? On the one hand you could say here's a young woman that's prepared. On the other hand, you could say, this girl is a slut.

They left out the most endearing things found in her bag.

A rolled plastic sandwich bag containing what looked like oregano and a hand written recipe for chocolate brownies.

Clearly this girl was a good cook. A good preparation for pleasing her future husband.

I was very moved.
