Derailing to talk about Mods

In the Meltdown thread, Mr.Smith had this to say:
And he’s right, but I’m not sure it’s a case of mod bias, but a case of inconsistency.
MDB has few hard and fast rules, which is good. MDB has more than a few flexible guidelines that get called “rules” which are really just rules of thumb, so to speak. How and when these guidelines are enforced is left up to each moderator, since Shades doesn’t baby-sit his mods (from what I know), he essentially let’s them do their thing.
What happens then, is that these guidelines get enforced with contradictory actions. I don’t think this has to do with mods favoring one post over another, it’s just that mods enforce these guidelines based on their interpretation. The fate of a questionable post depends on what mod gets to it first, basically.
What do you guys think? Is AS totally wrong? Is it bias? Or just inconsistency with enforcement?

Aristotle Smith wrote:...but the moderation here is starting to get biased. Liz can use the word [word deleted to prevent aspie interference] all she wants. Yet when I use the word, it goes straight to telestial. By the way, this is the third time that something like this has happened to me.
