Go to the Temple often

I have been told this mantra throughout my Temple attending career.

When I asked why (other than to do the works for the dead), I was told that "attending the Temple is never the same", since I would "learn something new each time I attended." That "if you watch the General Authorities who attend the Temple OFTEN, they are always learning something new."

In fact several of them have stated such in Conference and Firesides talks I have attended.

Having just returned from a trip to the East, I realized that attending the Temple is just like listening to the Safety announcement on a airline. It never changes (or if it does it is because of a world/news event) and if you learn anything new in listening to the presentation, its that you are on airplanes too often.

Oh, there is one big difference though; going often on an airplane I at least get frequent fly miles versus frequent headaches by attending the Temple often.

And the chances you'll need what you learned in the temple are much less likely than you'll need what the airline explains in its safety announcements.

If that's the case, it makes me wonder how much they knew to begin with.

And you were advised correctly. The philosophical problem of induction guarantees that you will learn something new each time you attend the temple just as it guarantees there will always be a new interpretation around the bend for See Spot Run

So like spot in a field of poppies, let your imagination run wild and relate the temple movie to each and every life situation you experience. I think you will find, that there are as many truths to be learned from the temple as their are possible experiences in life.

Yes, but you can pick up something new each time, from the symbolic curvature of the drop down air mask, to the way the stewardess' eyes glaze over during the safety recitation.
