Why doesn't God support apologetics...?

I mean, there are those boys and girls doing their best to put forward faith promoting angles to any and all controversy relating to Mormonism. Coming up with new ideas to try and refute biological, anthropological, archeological and geological (spooky that they all end in '...logical') evidences that counter Mormon beliefs and destroy testimonies is not easy you know.
Once the best apologetic arguments have been dismantled and shown to be smoke and mirrors there needs to be some substance from God. I mean, He is supposed to pitch in after 'all we can do' right? Well the apologists have definitely done all they can so now is the time for some divine intervention. A Nephite city perhaps, horse bones, some contemporary reformed Egyptian, a couple of visions, a new prophecy, something...anything...?
If I were an apologists I'd be coming round to thinking that God just isn't pulling His weight...
