"The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant."
How do we read this verse in light of the many changes to the endowment ordinance? This verse is typically prooftexted by the LDS church when discussing the Great Apostasy.

Which everlasting covenant was Isaiah referring to? Not a sin remitting Jesus baptism. Not temple marriage. What could it be? Circumcision? The rainbow covenant? Give the holy land to the Isrealites?
Ordinances...what ordinances existed during the time this part of Isaiah was written? Not the endowment. Not temple marriage. Not Jesus baptism. The Passover, maybe? Animal sacrifice? What?

Slippery slope. The same slippery slope that the catholic church rode down into apostasy and every other christian abomination. That slippery slope was the reason why every church was in apostasy before Joseph restored the one true church. Fear not though because the LDS church is immune to the very reason they claim other churches are false. Why you ask? Well, because its true!

Yes. It is great that the LDS church has immunity. The fact that it is immune from apostacy is simply more proof that it is true.
