simon and stem, who's your savior?
I ask because you both run to defend DCP or "the Church" as predictably as Pavlov expected his dogs would salivate when he rang the bell the last time in his experiment.
Simon, you can also be counted upon to defend JSJr if there is even the slightest sleight against him.
But when Jesus is the topic, I don't see either of you regularly run to his defense when he is assailed on MDB.
I see others, like Hoops, Nightlion and Ceeboo, for examples, each in his own way, quickly come to defend Jesus. But not either of you.
Is there something I am missing?

The fact is that Jesus just isn't that important a person in Mormonism. Apologists would much rather throw Jesus under the bus than Joseph.

Morning, Sock,
For my own benefit (and in hopes to gain additional perspective), I hope this thread moves in a direction where a better understanding might be in the cards. (We shall see?)
I'm not sure (Nor do I suggest to speak for my LDS friends), but if there is "something" that you're missing, I have also been missing it for a few years now.
For clarity, I do not propose to know either way.
Peace,
Ceeboo

Re: simon and stem, who's your savior?
I really haven't noticed a lot of disparaging remarks about the Savior, here, per se.
I have seen comments like, "there is no God".
I suppose that, right or wrong, it is easy to become immune to such comments. People are going to believe what they choose to believe.
I think that Simon and Stem's defense of Joseph Smith, and the Church happens because they honestly believe that people are either misunderstanding certain points, or just flat-out slandering Joseph Smith and the Church even though the points are known.
I tend to "call things as I see them". There are some instances where I will defend the Church. There are other occasions where I will concede, and sometimes even lead the discussion, on points where the Church is wrong.

I think we beat up the christian god way more than Jesus around here. It's kind of the same thing, but kind of not.

Cee, a travesty has occured. I cannot type two b's together without it autocorrecting to "baby." I am engaged in a resistance against this action.

Jesus the Christ, of course.
Aside from a few marbles (;, you're missing quite a bit of the take offered by myself and probably Simon. Nice of you to start a disengenuous thread about us though.

Which one - the Old Testament one, the New Testament one or the Book of Mormon one? (you can pick any combination including all of them).
