Mormon accents

I have identified 3 accents that I believe are distinct to Mormonism.

1) The "every sentence is a question" accent. Remember on the movie Anchorman when the crew screwed with Ron Burgundy by putting a question mark on the teleprompter. So when he ended his broadcast, he asked the question, "I'm Ron Burgundy?" I notice many members talk like every sentence is a question. Their pitch goes up as they end their sentence. "I know the gospel is true? and joseph smith is a true prophet?" I especially notice it with missionaries and men in their 20s, which makes me think it is an accent they picked up on their mission some how.

2) The Richard Dutcher accent. It seems in every ward I've been in there is at least one guy that has the Richard Dutcher accent. I can't explain it, so you will have to pick up a copy of God's Army to understand what it is. It sounds like a regional accent, but I've only heard it from LDS people. Maybe it's an Idaho or Utah accent.

3) The GA drone. you can hear it twice a year at general conference, and every week from the GA posers in your ward.

4) Pronouncing the word "across" with a superfluous "t" at the end, making the sound "acrost."

5) Pronouncing the word "creek" with a small "i" sound, making the sound "crick."

Its regional and not only found in Utah.

What about St. George speak?

There are supposedly people in St. George who switch the “are” and “ore” sounds when they speak. For example, when they look up in the sky at night they see the “stores”. And when they need groceries, they go to the “star”. And when they get mad at their kids for not wiping their feet they say, “Were you barn in a born?”

Is this real or is it a myth?

Saying "4 Shore" rather than "for sure" seems to be a Utah thing also.
