My God and Their God

The popular concept of God as a perfect being is just as limited as the limited God.
God of the Bible is bound by His perfection.
My God is bound by her imperfection.
The God of the Bible knows all and is limitless. He has no choice but to carry out His perfect plan.
My God doesn't have a very good plan. But she will improvise and adapt as we go along.
The God of the Bible painfully executes (or allows) the physical laws that cause us suffering. With exactness, he makes things better in the long run. He puts us through tests to see if we use our agency to help others he chose not to help.
My God suffers as she watches helplessly, all the suffering. With approximations and errors, she tries the best she can to help. Knowing her job is daunting, she requests the help of her children (us) to help each other.

Nice juxtaposition there, zeezrom, of whom is helped, god having chosen not to, testing us to see if we will choose to do so.

Your god is female, zeez? Nice.
I just got a flash of her encounter with Mary. Talk about an immaculate conception. They scissored each other until the egg got the needed spark, and technically, Mary was still a virgin after.
No wonder Jesus is soft on homosexuality.

Schmo,
I wonder if anyone dreams about Elohim and Brigham Young making man-love.
In all seriousness, if you can't imagine your God having sex, what kind of God is it?

She certainly was when the Odyssey was written. That was a long time ago, honor.

lol.
I don't know if you saw the movie, Immortals, that came out a month or two ago? If not, don't bother it wasn't very good. But in case you did, I was curious about how you felt Athena was portrayed there? There is a certain overlap in the movie with your OP.

You sound very new age zee. Usually, a new age philosophy supports us in all are imperfections and requires us to do nothing about them. And god or the gods are very understanding. However, if we look at Rome or Greece, we will see that they also had god's that kept them in order, not just allow them to live and let live.
We children are too stupid to help one another. Haven't you noticed?

You're right. We should stop even trying.
