How should Newt respond? I think he should praise Romney for having such a long lasting marriage and then ask if he expects to be married to other women in the hereafter.

I think he should praise Romney for having such a long marriage and then ask if he can have her cell number.

LOL. That would be funny. Romney might go into Dan Quayle mode and after the laughter and applause settled down say, "That was really uncalled for Senator."

I think Romney is making a serious mistake, and it's a form of desperation.
He needs to keep things above the fray, or he's going to turn voters even more off from him. It's one thing if both where going after each other, but Gingrich is not going to get down in the misrepresenting gutter, and thus Romney's sadly going to seal his fate.

He was really the man we needed for the job, experience in all the problem areas, having also learned from mistakes, etc.

I had feared that when Gingrich got into the race he would be the new Huckabee, destroying Romney's chances. It's just sad. Gingrich is wise, and isn't bad, but he just doesn't have the Romney background in really fixing things in all the areas that need it, from regulations that cause companies to go overseas, to business itself, to health care issues, to dealing with liberals etc.

romney just seems more presidential. I can't picture Gingrich as president for some reason. Maybe it's the superficial stuff like looks, mannerisms, and weird name, I don't know. Gingrich fit the role of the loyal opposition to Bill Clinton, but I can't picture him as the President.

Romney will then probably state that he has no intention to be with any other woman than his wife. Gingrich will then have the opportunity to state that he along with most Americans don't really know much about the "Mormon" religion except that polygamy is often associated with it. He might even finish off with the question: "Do you think it is more wrong that I have been married and divorced a few times or that Joseph Smith, the founder of your religion, married young girls and other married women?"

I would agree, but unfortunately unless Gingrich makes a serious gaff, or something really bad comes out, he's I'm 99.9% sure is going to get the nomination. If we could put Gingrich's wisdom into's Romney's look and experience, that would be the perfect candidate (with maybe a slight touch of Ron Paul's Constitutionality experience (though not his extreme veiws)).

But, since we can't do that, Gingrich's wisdom has come out now, and intelligent people are attracted to that, despite his other flaws, thus he's going to win it.

Even though my ideal Presidency would be Romney and Allen West, it would be good if Gingrich would pick Romney as his VP. Sadly, that's another reason Romney shouldn't be dissing Gingrich, because he's sealing his fate for sure.

Gingrich is notorious for making serious gaffs and really bad things have already come out about him (many of them) over the years. Gingrich's "wisdom" has been in great dispute since he was ousted from his leadership role in the 90's. Intelligent people (the independents) aren't seeing much wisdom. Just a lot of hubris (to me, his only genius is at self promotion).

As disheveled as the Republican party is right now, he may win the nomination. I have grave doubts about him winning the Presidency.

Newt should point out that he is just practicing The Principle serially, rather than concurrently.
