I don't see the connection between the material in your link and the idea that Romney is a New Order Mormon.
A little help, please?

Alright, here's the point.
What is the Mormon Church's teachings about Gambling? Why would a well respected highly influential former Stake President offer to bet a Fundamental Christian on National TV?
See the point? Romney is for Romney. If it means tossing his Mormon beliefs under the bus to get elected he will.

I haven't read the WP article, but the most recent take on this I read suggests it will hurt Romney. His admission he was raised well-to-do, and his instinctive "I'll bet you $10,000 I'm right" or however it was worded was a turn-off to the working class members of the GOP who can't imagine $10,000 being a sum you throw out in the context of "I'll betcha..."

Hahahahaha!
He should take that $10,000 and feed some people....since it appears to be burning a hole in his pocket.

That would be the good, moral, even Christian thing to do.
From a PR perspective for a candidate running for president, best to never mention or acknowledge it again. Let it alone.

Besides continuing to solidify his image as a Republican version of John Kerry, look at how he shot himself in the foot by giving this gift to Perry. Instead of keeping the focus on Perry's misrepresenting Romney's position about a federal governmental mandate on purchasing health insurance, it's now all about this bet. Plus, Perry supporters can spin this into Perry being the devout Christian whose integrity won't let him make a bet with this hypocritical Mormon.
I wish Romney's comeback would have been more like this:
"Okay, Governor Perry, here's my book. We're here on live national TV, and you keep attributing this position to me, so show everyone where I said that. I know it might be asking a lot for a chicken-fried religious fanatic who whores himself to special interests to read something written in a book, but give it your best try."

He's only recently a conservative so I wouldn't bet against you as polictial liberalism is a sure sign of apostasy. But I have no problem with true repentance. I believe Romney will do all he can as President to remove the mandate. All of them will. What I want to know is if they will go further and deconstruct most of the rest of PPACA.

PPACA was entirely designed to take down the health insurance industry in America. What constituency is there for reviving it from this deathblow?
