Why is it that the disaffection of most of the early leadership of the church, including members of the First Presidency, is seen today by TBMs as a sign that the church IS true?
For example, wouldn't have of the current apostles and members of the FP leaving the church today signal that something might be wrong with the church?

Actually only 2/5's or half of the early leadership defected.
Also, CFR that this event is used as a "sign" of the truth?
I need to know the "context" of that statement.
Reading minds, one possible reason it's a sign is because most who left the Church actually came back. The same also occurring with the Witnesses of the Book of Mormon, but not only that those who stayed away never denied their testimony.
So, maybe it's along those lines people are thinking the Church is true even with Apostasy?

Actually, if some of the big cat leaders left the church, it might stir some things up and spark more interest. The prophet might actually start prophesying again. TBMs would have more things to talk about in F&TM. Raising your right hand to the square would actually mean something.
The problem is, the church is getting really dull. There hasn't been anything new for a long time. Mabye it's time to start gearing up for allowing gay sealings in the temple.
