Dr. Shades

Post by _Jersey Girl »

Dear Dr. Shades,

I am writing to you as self elected spokesperson for the board. I wish to address the apparent loss of chat, which was obviously lost during the so-called "upgrade". I intend to be a voice for those of us who have already suffered the loss of our avatars and the "view active topic" feature and who now suffer the intolerable loss of "chat".

You see, there is a certain time of evening, just after the sun goes down, when some of the posters of this community gather together to chit chat about our day, our life and otherwise trash the hell out of certain other posters who are not cool enough for us.

While many of us will find some way to go on without our clique's, there are those such as myself who will, in the absence of other forms of self expression such as chat, click over to oh, Zappo's or eBay or god forbid some evil and addictive scrapbooking webstore, whip out a Visa and destroy our credit for the New Year.

You don't want that to happen, do you?

Now, I could easily spend my time oh, cleaning out a closet or folding laundry, or worse yet, reading a book. But that won't get me a new pair of Birkenstocks with free overnight shipping, now, will it?

Might I suggest that you appeal to the power that be, keene, to get chat up and running or better yet, a new and improved chat feature?

Until such time as chat is restored...

I dunno, I'm not really missing Jersey Girl's diatribes about the virtues of eating placenta or her random social interaction experiments that she conducts on unwitting participants.

Down with chat, I say!

I'm scooping through my brain to try and find a time, any time, any circumstance, and any comment, when you, the lovely Jersey Girl, was NOT extraordinarily delightful.

Perhaps there's a poster here who can help me.

I would have enjoyed participating in chat (I think). The old chat program never really worked for me. I would be kicked off by the server after only a few minutes.

Is a new chat program possible?
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

What if we found another chat program, and those of us who like to chat can pitch in the pocket change it would cost to run it? The chat program blows, and unwieldy. We could fix our own problems, instead of trying to move Shades into action, who in turn has to go to some other dude who never posts.

That's why I've avoided chat on all boards. My brief experience here was no different. If you have something to say about someone, say it to their face, not behind their back.

Oh stick it, Ray. There is not a thing I've ever said in chat that I wouldn't or haven't already said to the person on the board.

Really? That's not my experience with "chat", which seems most of the time to be nothing more than malicious gossip. Out of control tongue-wagging and judgement of others.
