See ya around, chumps
Since I first began posting around here I've had a number of you folks complain about me to the point of wishing I wasn't around at all (in truth the complaining about me started before I ever showed up, which I guess is a sad commentary of this place as a whole but a good illustration of what is to be expected around here). My time here is probably over. I don't really intend to participate anymore. So see ya.
Hey all, it's cool. I get it. I realize the hostility would like to continue unabated. I truly think its a sad thing, to tell the truth. I would prefer you all get over it and learn to enjoy others a little more--open up, relax, appreciate others (in another twist of irony it turns out this place perhaps represents the problem i see within the Church--the attitude of some members seems paramount among those who do not believe anymore and post here. Consequently I do wonder if those prone to leave the Church and turn into the group that is here are those at Church with attitude problems?). But since you don't seem willing to change or listen I won't go about stopping ya. The wonderful threads complaining about LDS folks are going to just keep popping up, I see.
I wish peace upon ya--every single one of ya. I've certainly enjoyed getting a few pictures of some of you. Others of you I really feel for (indeed prayers have been offered, if that's means anything to anyone). I maintian this place isn't wholly corrupt. There is some very redeemable qualities in every poster, of course, and very good things happening in this place as a whole. That was my brief last attempt to build you all up and hope you change for the good (don't fret, I'm sure it was all in vein too). In a way I'd like to stick around, but I realize no matter what I do and say things will be parsed, mocking will continue and ultimately discussion will be halted. I've come to realize more than anything, here we have the ironically named "Discussion" board. Truly its far more about mocking and deriding and high fiving bullies and back slapping for displays of anger than discussion.
'Til we meet again, huh? Yeah yeah...i know, just playing with that comment.
Oh stop Pouting.
Sincerely,
David
P.S. I'll probably come back around to read what you guys say in this thread. So go ahead and offer the parting shots. I'll look at them as opportunities to get a good honest look at how I can improve as a person. I know I have a long way to go.

I was expecting for Stem to reveal himself as Brade, who would gloat about trolling us all.

Stem, while I think negative reaction to you has been overblown, I also think you have been more and more resistant to fair, rational discourse over the last month or so. Perhaps these two things are feeding off each other.
In any case, I wish you well and hope you return some day.

For what its worth, I have no desire to see you go. You are everything I could hope for in a defender of the LDS church.

Hey, David-
I for one am sorry to see you go. I have enjoyed your participation. Mind you, I understand why you are leaving, and I think that it is probably a healthy move, if you feel it is what you need to do. I sympathize with you in all of the negativity that has been aimed your way, and I think is has been overboard at times. Part of me thinks that people didn't get your playful sense of humor, partly because of your faith.
In any case, best wishes. It has been on the whole a good deal of fun to read your posts.

Hi David,
I am always sorry to see one of the MDB members leave the community (No matter what the reason/reasons may be for leaving).
I hope you will pop in every now and then to share with us what is happening in the Stem-world and I wish you and yours peace, friend.
Sorry to see you leave.
Merry Chritmas to you and yours! :)

Dear Mr. Stemelbow,
It does not escape my attention that the timing of your so-called "farewell" post comes right on the heels of the nominations for "Poster of the Year". I assure you that I recognize a contrived attempt to win the sympathy vote for this years nominations when I see one.
Well, you can't manipulate the Jersey Girl, buddy!
Other than that, I have to say I rarely read your posts, so it's no skin off my nose to wish you well.
:-)
