Calling one of the chief gods of Egypt a slave is just wrong. There is no apologetic argument that can salvage that one. Joseph Smith was wrong and made it up. John Gee lives and supports the lie -- and others are totally in Mormon denial. And who was that clown in the video that said the critics were 99% wrong? Actually, in the case of Anubis, the critics are 100% corrrect and Mormon scriptures contain deception -- all for the glory of their god, who is less than a slave in my book.

Here, allow me to summarize:

- Most things written by critics are full of inaccuracies.
- Apologists are in a better position now than they ever have been in defending the authenticity of the Book of Abraham.
- It's foolish to value what you learn in school over what you learn from God.
- The things we learn from God are more reliable than the things we learn from our minds.
- The strongest evidence for the Book of Abraham is its English text.
- Be careful with what you read [regarding the Book of Abraham] because 99.9% of it is wrong and "they just have too many wrong things in them".
- There are only a few people who really know both the historical and egyptological sides of the issue.
- Any rational arguments or evidences we put forth must also be tempered by our faith that is given through a witness of the Holy Ghost.

In this clip ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khwXI3MC ... re=related ) they claim they've recently consulted "a good Egyptologist" to back up the blatant lies they're selling, but fail to mention who this person is. Mike Ash claims they've "never found another one like this" to describe Facsimile 1, which is an outright lie. In a nutshell, what they're claiming is the pagan book of the dead is a genuine source for Mormon doctrine, and while 99.9% of what the critics claim is wrong, they have nothing but opinion to back up their claims. Without addressing the actual criticisms of the critics, this is intellectual dishonesty at its finest. The end result suggests one pray for an answer and ignore the data.

Yeah, I noticed that too. How did that get past review? I kept rewinding it to see if I was hearing it wrong.

- Most things written by critics are full of inaccuracies.

Really? Facsimile No. 3 depicts the images of: Isis, Osiris, Maat, Hor, and Anubis. The Mormon revelation of the same is 100% wrong.

- Apologists are in a better position now than they ever have been in defending the authenticity of the Book of Abraham.

Tell me, Mr. Gee, why do Mormons call Anubis a slave?

- It's foolish to value what you learn in school over what you learn from God.

Show me the characters to prove it's Shulem, one of the king's principal waiters, as represented by the characters above his hand.

- The things we learn from God are more reliable than the things we learn from our minds.

God enjoys a drag show -- on stage.

- The strongest evidence for the Book of Abraham is its English text.

And how to you spell Shulem in Egyptian?

- Be careful with what you read [regarding the Book of Abraham] because 99.9% of it is wrong and "they just have too many wrong things in them".

Just about anything that explains the false claims of Joseph Smith's pretended revelations is deemed wrong by Mormons in denial.

- There are only a few people who really know both the historical and egyptological sides of the issue.

Perhaps John Gee will take a moment and tell me the name of the king written in the writing of Facsimile No. 3.

- Any rational arguments or evidences we put forth must also be tempered by our faith that is given through a witness of the Holy Ghost.

All you have to do is continue to deny, deny, deny.

1. I recognize Gee, but who are those other clowns?

2. I wonder how long before the comments are disabled (or require approval before appearing).

3. Try watching it with YouTube's snowflake option. Still a huge waste of time, but, hey -- pretty snowflakes.

I think it is pretty obvious that this video is intended for the faithful who don’t really know the criticisms, but are just looking for reassurance.
