They're uninterested in trying to talk a diverse set of friends into a shared viewpoint in a culture that celebrates an idea that all truths are equally valid.
Emphasis mine.
Equally valid? Or equally invalid? Hmmmm.

Yes.
The point is, people don't find the question of God very important or interesting anymore. We're evolving. :)

I decided today that I like Rev. Mariann Edgar Budde. Thanks for pointing me to her!
To be human is to have a sense of purpose, an awareness that our life is an utterly unique expression of creation and we want to live it with meaning, grace and beauty.
An advocate for spiritual curiosity!

Why is this guy referred to this way?
Neither raging atheist scientist Richard Dawkins...
Why do people use the word "raging" on him?
Seriously, do a Google on that. Weird.

Because atheists remain a hated and discriminated against subclass. Believers feel it's appropriate to discriminate against them.
The great thing about going from Mormon to atheist is I no longer have to
pretend to be discriminated against or hated for my beliefs. ;)

Hey Buff,
What would be worse: Tell my parents I'm a believer in Athena or that I'm an Atheist?
Honestly, I think they would prefer Atheist.
Actually.... They would prefer Atheist over any other religion. Joining another religion would be an insult upon insult to them.

That's true, pagans are also hated. I don't think about them often because I don't meet any as general rule
The thing about Mormons is they HATE apostates, whether they become atheists or Christians or whatever. They have a great deal of tolerance for people of other faiths (not much for atheists, unless they're liberal Mormons). But if you start out Mormon and lose your faith, you become the enemy. It's sad.
Check out this woman's story.

Hey Buff,
You should share thoughts on what it's like to participate in the LDS program as an atheist sometime. It would be fascinating.

An advocate for spiritual curiosity!
Or an advocate for living and perceiving life in spiritual delight and exuberance.
