Matthew 5: 33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’ 34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King. 36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. 37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.[g]
And then set in stone for Mormons when it made it into the Book of Mormon.
3 Nephi 12
33 And again it is written, thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths;
34 But verily, verily, I say unto you, swear not at all; neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne;
35 Nor by the earth, for it is his footstool;
36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair black or white;
37 But let your communication be Yea, yea; Nay, nay; for whatsoever cometh of more than these is evil.

The people in the temple don't swear by God's throne or by heaven, etc.
They do just bow their head and say yes.
No is not allowed...that is where they spit in the face of Jesus. He at least says you can say no. The oaths don't say bow your head and say yes or no, only yes.

Where would the oath and covenant of the Presthood be without the oath?

The modern translation makes Jesus' words so much clearer. I guess that's one more reason why the Brethren prefer the KJV - they can hide the church's opposition to the teachings of Jesus more easily.

Buffalo obviously is not familiar with the esoteric rites which are not in conflict with any thing Jesus or the rest of the Bible or other scriptures said.
