Where will Hill Cumorah be after the Old Guard has passed?

After TSM, BKP and LTP have all passed, where will the Book of Mormon Hill Cumorah be located, per LDS teachings?
Through and including the 1st Watson Letter, the one signed by Watson and on official letter head, the FP/12 have not let too many years go by without reiterating from the GC podium or some other official doctrine outlet that the Hill Cumorah where the last, final great battle of the Book of Mormon took place, where all but 24 Nephite warriors 'met their Waterloo' is located in upstate New York, the very hill that JSJr claimed to have extracted the gold plates from the hiding place Moroni, in his mortality, placed them.
Now, the FP/12/COB have gone silent for more than 21 years now. (Granted, the every inventful NAMIRS crew fed staffer Carla Ogden verbiage from the BYU-published Encyclopedia of Mormonism, and she typed it up and faxed that verbiage she'd been fed back to NAMIRS--the supposed 2nd Watson Letter that purportedly had the FP doing an about face and claiming the Church had no position on where the Book of Mormon Hill Cumorah is located. Trying to jimmy the door of possibility open for another location, one in central America, where Lilliputian sized Nephites/Lamanites could have existed in the LGT.)
21 years of silence. Within 10 years, in all likelihood TSM, BKP and LTP will have died. When the new guard takes over, what is the likelihood that with an entire generation having passed and 30 years at that, will it be that Prophets Hamlin and Peterson will get their wish: an official pronouncement that the Church has no position on the location of the Book of Mormon Hill Cumorah?

The Brethren have again failed to learn by history, that by making dogmatic statements such as the location of the Hill Cumorah, they are painting themselves into a corner that ultimately cannot be defended. Of course, should Church leaders who believe in the Mexico-Cumorah arise, they will simply say "the earlier Brethren spoke with limited light and knowledge, but now we have NEW LIGHT that sheds more light". It's the "New Light" thing. Explains-away all contradictions. The Watchtower uses it to explain differences in their own statments. Works like a charm...for the faithful.sock puppet wrote:After TSM, BKP and LTP have all passed, where will the Book of Mormon Hill Cumorah be located, per LDS teachings?

The Dim Bulb apologetic. Ahh, I see. elohim/jehovah just couldn't get the right information into the heads of those prior prophets/apostles. But now, with new and improved means of inspiration, today's prophets/apostles know so much more. Good that elohim/jehovah got those lines of communication up and working better as time has gone by.
Funny, though. Haven't we been promised that elohim/jehovah promised that they would not allow the prophet to lead the Church membership astray. Two demerits for this one, elohim/jehovah. Bad boys.
Funnier yet, though. It seems that only when science and other scholarship makes historically-held Mormon position no longer tenable, do the FP/12 get more light and knowledge. DNA evidence led to the change in the official introduction to the Book of Mormon, downplaying the role of the Lamanites as ancestry of the current Native Americans. Archaeological analysis becoming better, and well, that will lead to elohim/jehovah giving more light to the FP/12 about where the Hill Cumorah isn't.
It truly is a marvelous work and a wonder.

The Church leaders have already spoken regarding Indians and DNA. In a televised interview on German television, an interviewer asked Hinckley if he knew that Native Americans were not related to Hebrews in their DNA. Hinckley replied, "All that's just speculation."
So...thereyuh go! Scientific DNA tests are just "speculation". That's called "denial"; the best friend of selfish women and Mormon prophets.sock puppet wrote:Daheshist wrote:The Brethren have again failed to learn by history, that by making dogmatic statements such as the location of the Hill Cumorah, they are painting themselves into a corner that ultimately cannot be defended. I simply do not understand how Peterson and other apologist can assert that the church has never had a position on the location of Hill Cumorah. Exactly how many prophets and apostles must declare something before it is considered a position?

Mormon Apologists, like Peterson and others, are in deep, deep, deep "denial". They have their heads up their own asses so far they think the darkness is light, and the stink is the smell of Paradise.Willy Law wrote:I simply do not understand how Peterson and other apologist can assert that the church has never had a position on the location of Hill Cumorah. Daheshist, please consider presenting your posts in ever increasing font sizes. It's not at all distracting or obnoxious.

I love this question, mildly taken out of context:
After TSM, BKP and LTP have all passed, where will the Book of Mormon Hill Cumorah be located?
It turns the basic doctrines of the religion into what could become a fun myth. Something you can play with, like a toy.

Doest this count? This would make it only 10 years of silence.
"I am . . . glad to be back and walk this ground where Moroni walked so very, very long ago."
GBH 2002
http://www.ldschurchnews.com/articles/42079/Visitors-center-dedicated-where-Moroni-walked.htmlAgain, the list of prophets and apostles that have said the Hill Cumorah is in upstate NY is long:
Joseph Fielding Smith
Marion G Romney
BH Roberts
Orson Pratt
James Talmage
Bruce R McConkie
Mark E Peterson
Gordon B Hinckley
How is this not considered the church's position?
One guy can say to wear only one set of earrings and that is the church's position, but eight prophets of the Almighty aren't good enough for the mopologetic crew?...and they think we are the apostates.

Anti-mormon assumptions are not the same as the actual facts concerning the Church.
There have ALWAYS been "two" Cumorahs......
You all forget that Moroni TRAVELED many miles and years before he ultimately deposited the plates, clearly in a Cumorah not the same as the traditional one. Even the OLD "Voice from the Dust" or whatever video compilation shows this from some 30 years ago.
In fact, you idiots don't even realize that the Book of Mormon doesn't even state WERE Moroni deposited the plates. The NY Cumorah was called that LATER!!!
