Another desperate endeavouring to hide the fact that

1. The Church has no official doctrine/catechism/whatever
2. No prophet, seer and revelator dare to create one, after Bruce's fault
3. No prophet, seer and revelator could create one, because the chaos can not be distinguished from a random process, especially by religious laymans (see Uneducated Farmboy).

zerinus has no clue. There is no such notion in the LDS Church as "signed by the 12" or the FP or "voted on in GC" in terms of doctrine. Publication remains the only standard for official doctrine.

Could someone please paste the quote as I am 'not allowed to visit this community'...?

The quote is an official statement of opinion, it is not doctrine. If it isn't in the standard works, per the official statement, it isn't doctrine.

Jeff K said: The quote is an official statement of opinion, it is not doctrine. If it isn't in the standard works, per the official statement, it isn't doctrine.

Zerinus said: There is no such thing as an "official statement of opinion". When the First Presidency issues an official declaration, and all three of them sign it, that makes it as official and authoritative as it can be. It becomes the doctrine of the Church

Here is what God's official spokespersons' spokesperson says to clarify the matter. Officially.

Not every statement made by a Church leader, past or present, necessarily constitutes doctrine. A single statement made by a single leader on a single occasion often represents a personal, though well-considered, opinion, but is not meant to be officially binding for the whole Church. With divine inspiration, the First Presidency (the prophet and his two counselors) and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (the second-highest governing body of the Church) counsel together to establish doctrine that is consistently proclaimed in official Church publications. This doctrine resides in the four “standard works” of scripture (the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price), official declarations and proclamations, and the Articles of Faith. Isolated statements are often taken out of context, leaving their original meaning distorted.

FIFY. The scriptures are merely where the doctrine resides. Neither you nor I is qualified or authorized to look at the scriptures and determine official doctrine.

Doesn't matter who actually wrote or if it was a group of persons or an individual. It's published on an official site.

Yet you still can't show in the statement where they say everything published is to be considered doctrine.

Here is the part yo like so much

With divine inspiration, the First Presidency (the prophet and his two counselors) and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles (the second-highest governing body of the Church) counsel together to establish doctrine that is consistently proclaimed in official Church publications.

Now show where they sate that everything in official church publications is to be considered doctrine, forgetting that we don't know who prepared or approved of this statement.
