Smart man. It was NH or bust. He can't get traction in EV SC. Plus, he's too left-wing, worse than Romney. Plus, he's not really LDS in word or deed, preferring instead to distance himself from the Church.

Earlier this month Huntsman said of Romney, "Apparently, Mitt Romney doesn’t believe in putting country first," and now Hunstman is endorsing him? Pathetic.

Pathetic.

Not really. Huntsman expressed the real and most important goal, getting rid of Obama; and he believes that Romney has the best shot at that.

Additionally, it is rumored that Huntsman would not wrap himself in the Confederate flag and and meet with the Grand Dragon, nor sip the nectar of magnolias. You've got to really want the vote if you are to be the candidate.

Right you are. Even if Huntsman considered himself to be a conservative, there are gradations that determine his properness to be Mormonworthy. Huntsman was too soft on fluoride and even allowed water with this known communism causing substance to be served in the Governor's Mansion.

He's smart enough not to keep wasting his money. I'm not voting until May. I don't know if I'll vote for Romney or Santorum, but Huntsman wasn't a viable candidate after working for Obama.

I hope someday most Republicans will embrace Huntsman's "America First" ideal.

I mean, I can understand why a typical Republican wouldn't want a president who accepts what mainstream science says about evolution and global warming, but I honestly don't get why being an American ambasador should be grounds for disqualification.

The whole "Huntsman worked for Obama" thing is simply terrible. My respect for people who pull that out of their asses and admit to it in public is just shot.

Huntsman is right on this. Obama is the President of the United States. If you consider yourself an American, and the President calls you up and asks you to serve your country, "sorry but you're a Democrat, so NO" should not be considered a valid reason for refusing. Republicans who pull this crap out are saying that on the balance beam of motivating principles in their minds, with Republican on one side of the scale, and American on the other side, the Republican side wins out. That's sad.

I have another question. If Robert Gates were to try to run as a Republican, should he be disqualified because he continued on as Secretary of Defense under Obama for two years?

I agree with you, but I think it still worked against him. Huntsman's positions were actually more conservative than any of the other candidates in the field.
