Facebook Danites

A certain group of Danites has taken to flagging posts made by evangelicals about Mormonism as offensive. Facebook in turn deletes the post and sends it to the offender letting him know he is now suspended for 24 hours. There isn't any review. It seems totally automated.
Sandra Tanner was suspended for saying she was being interviewed with an ex-mormon.
A blog was started to chronicle these "offensive" postings.
http://censoredonfb.tumblr.com/No word if the DAMU or NOM contention has been hit.

Can you imagine the outbursts of 'Persecution, we are suffering persecutuon' if Facebook were deleting Mormon's posts?

Mormonism seems to engender a certain Stalinist Russia mentality in its members, doesn't it?

This has been happening for about the last 3 weeks. Consider it "ongoing".

I had it happen to me about 2 months ago. My post was flagged as "hate speech." The problem is it wasn't clear what post they were talking about.

I guess this is one of the inevitable consequences of the Brethren telling the flock to get out there and defend the gospel on the Internet. You get everything from Dan Peterson telling all the readers at TIME that he's being "stalked" by Satan, to these yahoos on Facebook engaging in rampant censorship. To paraphrase Jerry Seinfeld: "that's not going to be good for business."
Here's a question, though: can't you privatize your Facebook posts? I.e., are these public posts that are getting censored? Or is this a case of your own TBM Facebook friends coming in to put the kibbosh on your comments?

All of the above.
One guy posted "happy new year" to an open Mormon discussion group. BOOT
