why me wrote:So, if these people at church would have contacted our canadian friend, our canadian friend could simply assume that the contact was to get them back to church? And he can moan at will about it here? And can our canadian friend assume that the man giving the talk about him missing our canadian friends was just a ploy to get H and his wife back to church and also to emabarrass the kids?

Here's what you're missing: the man's intent is irrelevant. It's simply bad form to call out someone publicly like that, even if their kids weren't there. That the kids were there just makes it worse. How you can't see that is beyond me.

Is it really possible (No matter what color jersey you are wearing) to be that blind and not see how crystal clearly wrong this is/was? How grossly out of bounds this is/was?

Are you kidding me?

This is about someone defending the church, nothing more.

What is really fun is a few years later watching that same person walk past you in the lobby (you being unworthy to proceed further) to be in your child's sealing party.

Gee Ceeboo, I thought you'd been around long enough to get a grasp on the crazy around here.

Is it really? (Seriously?)

If so, is it at all/any cost?

LDST,

Don’t send the letter. Make a list of all the people that expressed this false concern for you to your children, and contact them. Invite them over, saying that you want to discuss how you might become active again, that you need help with a few issues. Once they are there, and the time is appropriate, lay it out the most devastating case you can, with no regard for their own spiritual health.

These people are not your friends LDST, they don’t need to be protected, and they’ll use you and your wife in whatever way they can to make points to your own kids.

Go for the throat.

Also, do this in front of your active kid and his lady friend, the audience and the added pressure to preform will make it even more important and difficult for the SOB.

Yes, it is. I would have thought you understood that by now. Some people believe they are engaged in a battle with Satan over the souls of men and women, so all bets are off.

Maybe I should start on new thread on this topic, but what would be the 'most devastating case' you can make? You have a limited interaction with these people, so what information would do the most damage?

Excellent idea for a new thread, and what better way for LDST to brainstorm!
