Is there an RSS feed for this board? For individual topics? If it doesn't exist, is there a possibility to enable RSS?

Yes, but Mav or Keene will have to do it because they are the only ones with permission to add or change the code.

They can do a simple copy/paste from the java script found here:

I think it will improve the board conversations by allowing people to track threads they are interested in and comment upon them in a timely manner. The email feature is simply too slow and too random. It seems to send emails at random times and for random reasons.

I also think it would allow people to track and comment on more threads if there are forum feeds. It would be great to have an RSS feed of all new posts in Celestial or Terrestrial in one location. Instead of clicking each thread, I could read each forum's feed and track multiple threads at one time.

If the feeds also listed the author of the comment, as most RSS feeds do, it would also let me ignore people who deserve to be ignored. As far as I can tell the email based notification system doesn't obey the friends/foes system.

Finally, the signal to noise ratio has really taken a hit on this board lately. It just takes far too much effort to read a thread only to find out that it has been "Why Me'd." With RSS, I would be able to quickly establish that the turd brigade has left their feces all over a thread and give it up for dead. Also, I think it would allow one to salvage threads where the turd brigade has done its business by allowing people to quickly skip over their "contributions." The friend/foe feature only partially solves this problem, because I still have to go to each thread, scan the pages, look for the hidden posts, and try and figure out which posts are responding to hidden posts, etc.

In summary, RSS would improve my user experience greatly, and I think it would improve board communication overall. Most helpful would be forum based RSS feeds (Celestial feed, Telestial feed, etc.), followed by individual thread feeds.

You bring up some excellent points...many that I hadn't thought of. I have not done a lot of searching utilizing RSS. It sounds like a definite advantage.
