McNaughton's Via Dolorosa: The pinnacle of LDS Art

Having an LDS Elder, as the main character, giving the fallen Christ a blessing was certainly a novel concept for a painting.
So many historical characters in this scene of Jesus carrying the Cross on the Via Dolorosa! Having President Obama, Joan D'Arc, Mark Twain and Walter Cronkite on the same canvas was an eye treat.

Huh, I didn't know that Christ had his legs cut off at the knees right before the crucifixion.

Not to mention Columbus, Hitler, Stalin, Henry VII, Marx, Lenin, Napoleon, Castro and I think the guy that works at the corner grocery. I'm surprised there isn't a penguin in there somewhere.
I found it a little odd that a guy that does such good representations of people would paint such a dodgy perspective on the buildings in the background.

It's always good to know that a Mormon elder is closer to Jesus than is Mother Teresa.

Jesus being upstaged by some dude doing a quirkey jitterbug.(?)
I am actually wondering if there is some understandable Mormon role the fellow is doing beyond getting in the way (we know he is Mormon due to his ethnic clothing get up)
Does Jesus need an elders ok to proceed with his journey?

The Elder is giving a blessing? He is supposed to use both hands! He looks like he's rapping. This painting, like all of his, is pure entertainment.

I like how bin laden is standing behind a couple.of US presidents. Also bin laden is standing next to a Sith....yes you read correct there is a Sith in the painting, either emperior palpatein or some other Sith.
Also that Obama is in the back make the painter a racist

Ugh. This guy has the subtlety of a brick to the head and the aesthetic of Watchtower pamphlets from the seventies.

No wonder Pope John Paul II has his face buried in his hands.

Actually the Mormon Elder is telling the crowd "He's ok, there's just a few more yards to go."
