You were born to be a queen.

Being queen is quite a high calling in life. I see no submission there in Mormonism. Young women should seek an education and allow inner beauty to shine forth. I see no submission there also. Being educated they become subjects and not objects. And their value stems from within. This is quite a message for women of all ages.

At least you don't have me on ignore. :=) Any comments about the video? I think that it had a good message for youth and for women in general. Allow deep beauty to shine forth. Not bad.

Iron Felix Trump's your avatar. Ahhh....the good ol days. At least in Dzershin, Russia his statue still stands.

Another video that encourages women to be queens and love the way God made them. Rich in yonic imagery and no sign of submission in sight. Perhaps Sister Dalton played a role in its production?

The music is OTT. I don't really get the obsession with kingdoms and kingdom language. It's all highly romanticized and silly.

The message of inner beauty is nice.

Well, I have to admit that lady gaga has a nice body. She has a cute butt and just the right size breasts. I also liked it when she touched herself. Thanks. Nothing like a video that objectifies women.

But what did you think of the video I linked to?

I think that my video is more in tune with your own church, right? Or are they into lady gaga too and her imaging for the youth?

I think the Gaga video is an interesting one to juxtapose with the LDS message.

Gaga's is one of self acceptance how you are and what you are NOW...it is also holistic. Accepting your outer and inner self.

Gaga's message is that you ARE beautiful right now.

The LDS message is one of earning worth and becoming worthy and acceptable. It is also one of rejecting the physical and outer self and has a sole focus on the inner self.

The LDS message is that you can hopefully be beautiful some day if you work hard enough.

Yeah, I figured that'd be your favorite part.

What makes you say that Gaga's video "objectifies women"? The men were scantily clad. Did it objectify men?

why me wrote:But what did you think of the video I linked to?

I think it was an admirable effort at preaching a message of empowerment and self-worth to young women. A bit old-fashioned, but I didn't hear anything in the video that I objected to. It's what the church teaches about women elsewhere that I object to.

Speaking of which, I didn't see anything in it that would rebut what the church teaches about female submission elsewhere. Queens can still be the subordinates of kings. I also don't see it as a particularly revolutionary notion given that someone like Lady Gaga can preach almost the exact same message while gyrating in her panties.

But I already know that arguing with you about the LDS church and female subordination is a waste of time, so don't expect me to start.

I'm not "into" Lady Gaga other than liking a few of her songs and videos ("Born This Way" was one of the videos I disliked), and I doubt her music is something the ECC would play at a youth gathering. We do claim two members of The Fray as our own.
