Didn't read it.

I don't think faith is supposed to be rational. It comes from the other half of the brain.

Except the Christian is supposed to, by biblical edict, to have a rational faith.

What is rational faith? I don't know what that means.

BTW- the article actually argues there can be a rational faith.

I don't want to read it. Are Clif Notes available, Stakiepoo?

ETA: No. I looked at it. I am way too tired for that crap. When they start putting X and Y in the words...just NO! My brain hurts.

From the abstract:

To do so, I consider the sense in which faith requires going
beyond the evidence, and argue that faith requires terminating the search for further evidence.
Having established this, I turn to the question of whether it can still be rational to have faith;
arguing that, contrary to common assumptions, there need be no conflict between faith and
rationality. We shall see that whether faith can be practically rational depends both on
whether there are extrinsic costs associated with postponing the decision to have faith and the
extent to which potential counter evidence would be conclusive.

Basically, it’s rational to have faith if the possibility of counter evidence is very low.
