From the article:

The Mormon Church in Salt Lake City owns one of the most active and unregulated gun sale portals on the web, according to a new report.

An undercover investigation released in December by Mayor Bloomberg’s office named KSL.com the third most active gun listings site on the Internet.

The online hub came under scrutiny Monday when the news website Buzzfeed revealed Deseret Media Companies, the for-profit arm of the Mormon Church, operates it.

The mayor’s report said the site — where 1,327 handguns and 1,003 rifles were listed for sale Monday — allows buyers and sellers to complete a gun sale without identifying themselves.

Undercover agents performed “integrity checks” on the site, trying to buy guns while declaring openly that they could not pass a legit background check.

In eight of 12 attempts, the seller happily sold the gun to the shady buyer .

My opinion about gun ownership is similar to what Archie Bunker told Meathead. Archie told Meathead he could easily end all the highjackings to Cuba. Meathead asked how?

Archie said, "Arm all the passengers."

Is this what the Church means by 'gird up your loins'?

Not that I know US laws, but from Canada this seems in line with how loose gun regulation seems to be. Is it not?

It just fails to have the shock value you seem to assign it. I figured you'd be ale to use buy/sell sites like kijiji/craigslist. Am I wrong?

I think the scandal is in the One True Church of 'thou shalt not kill' God, being seen to be an arms dealer....

I hope you extend the gun fear to men in costume as well? Or do guns magically behave when the person holding one lacks accountability?

What scandal? They are only operating e-classified ads for the public, they are helping the public exercise their constitutional right that guarantees us the right to wear short sleeved shirts.

I'm sure this would make Brigham Young proud.
