Can we assume people who think homosexuality is a choice

Post by _Buffalo »

...are all bisexual? As a lifelong heterosexual, the idea of being able to choose who you are attracted to is so foreign to me. I started noticing girls in Kindergarten. I didn't choose it - it was always just there.

Were more people encouraged to make this choice, then overpopulation and the associated negative global impact on humanity would be easily resolved. I guess Mormonism wants the world to eat its way into a second coming apocalypse...

Well, you still don't choose who you are attracted to...even if you are bi. You are simply attracted to who you are attracted to.

good point. Any guy who claims you can choose to be gay is speaking for himself.

And given how well gay people are treated by the bigots, what a great choice it is!

Now, now. We all know that being treated poorly is just a sign of the truthfulness of the organization. Obviously homosexuals have simply received further light and knowledge, and are being persecuted for choosing to following the truth.

Good point. But I guess you have more choices available, so you can choose to just date the opposite sex if you want as far as dating, even if you're attracted to people from both genders.

True. being more fluid does allow for more options. Pansexuality all the way, baby!!!

The thing that certain people fail to recognize is that having sexual relations with the opposite sex doesn't make you straight anymore than having sexual relations with the same sex makes you gay. Sexuality is more than that. So much more.

I think that what these people are really saying is that who you have sex with is a choice. Well, duh! I think we can all agree on that. However, I think that people should (choose to) have sexual relations with those whom they are sexually attracted to and have an emotional connection. That is almost universally agreed to be the way to have the most satisfying and fulfilling sex life/romantic relationship.

Well Buffalo, you might just have stumbled upon something this time. I used to hold the opinion that sexuality was a choice, and I am bisexual.
