Robbery in Eden
I was taught that Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit in order to fulfill God's plan. Lately, I've been thinking how nice it is to know that Eve may have simply been curious and once tasted, found pleasure. It's nice to believe the whole experience had no other motivation than that. Pure and simple.
Well, folks have come in and robbed us of the simple purity of Eden. They took away the curiosity and replaced it with God's business transactions. I recall often hearing the phrase, "The Fall was necessary to fulfill God's Plan."
Take away the passion, the childlike curiosity, the desire and what are we left with? Doing something robotically as a pawn of God to carry his contrivance forward. Robbery, I say!

Re: Robbery in Eden
God thought everything was in order. It was the Golden Age of Man! But this mortal comes along and surprises him. She eats it! "How dare she!" thunders a voice from above. She messed up his creation. The Golden Age was wrecked. Now, He must improvise.
God was forced to improvise because of a mere mortal!
Think of it.
Eve rocks.

I assumed she was a dupe, perhaps even a communist dupe.
But quips aside, I want to read through the further writings about Adam and Eve such as the "Life of Adam and Eve" (see link below) which goes further about the Fall including Eve's story. Not exactly canon but you seen to be far beyond canon at this point Zeez. Might want to check it out for kicks:

Whatever appears to be against the Book of Mormon is going to be overturned at some time in the future. So we can be pretty open minded.-charity 3/7/07

O do go back to your Zeus and Athena. Eve was barren. She had used up all her conceptions in the pre-existence having FINISHED ALL THE HOSTS THEREOF:
Moses 3:
1 Thus the heaven and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
2 And on the seventh day I, God, ended my work, and all things which I had made; and I rested on the seventh day from all my work, and all things which I had made were finished, and I, God, saw that they were good;
3 And I, God, blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it; because that in it I had rested from all my work which I, God, had created and made.
4 And now, behold, I say unto you, that these are the generations of the heaven and of the earth, when they were created, in the day that I, the Lord God, made the heaven and the earth,
5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, created all things, of which I have spoken, spiritually, before they were naturally upon the face of the earth. For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had created all the children of men; and not yet a man to till the ground; for in heaven created I them; and there was not yet flesh upon the earth, neither in the water, neither in the air;
You will say, No, this is God who created them. But no, he commanded Adam and Eve to multiply before all the hosts were finished. Go back and see for yourself. Read in D&C 29 how God ONLY creates by the word of his power which are his commandments. Here he commanded Adam and Eve and counts that as his creation.
How did they know that all the hosts thereof were finished except that Eve could not bear anymore? Women only have just so many conceptions possible. When they are done they are done and IF they are to continue the seeds both in the world and out of the world they need to have their conceptions multiplied and replenished..................(waiting for a light to come on)...................(ding)
22 Unto the woman, I, the Lord God, said: I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception.
The transition from exalted spirit body procreation to physical body procreation is done.
It was a process and a transition. Little g gods lay down their lives and take them up again subject to Very God. But they are more than the angels and continue two separate kinds of seeds, for two differing kinds of bodies. Forever and ever. For they will go back and do it again. Just as the Father, Son and Holy Ghost will do what they do again on their course which is an eternal round.

Re: Robbery in Eden
I think that it's interesting that according to the Mormon version of the story, Eve had to partake of the fruit or the grand plan is trashed. I agree, I like the original version better. It makes more sense.

You robbed the story of the serpent and God's command in an effort to scratch your itching ears.

How does the serpent tempt Eve before she knows good from evil?
How is Eve responsible for her actions without knowing their consequences?

Your questions are making my head hurt and grey stuff is seeping out of my nose....Oh wait...it's all a myth. Pain gone, carry on.

Re: Robbery in Eden
Zeez, this is my favorite version of the Garden of Eden story:
The Garden of Love
I went to the Garden of Love,
And saw what I never had seen:
A Chapel was built in the midst,
Where I used to play on the green.
And the gates of this Chapel were shut,
And Thou shalt not' writ over the door;
So I turn'd to the Garden of Love,
That so many sweet flowers bore,
And I saw it was filled with graves,
And tomb-stones where flowers should be:
And Priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
And binding with briars my joys and desires.
