Who Is Messing With The MDB Water Supply?

It seems that someone has recently slipped a few arrogance-enlarging pills, a couple ego-boosting pills, a massive amount of rational thinking pills, and a bunch of brilliant-now pills in the MDB water cooler. (A bizarre and dangerous combination, to be sure)

The result of this pill consumption has negatively changed the MDB (in my opinion).

Has anyone seen anybody lurking around the water cooler lately?

Any clues?

Peace,
Ceeboo

Rambo is in charge of the water cooler, Ceeboo. He got distracted by a Scandinavian nymph at just the wrong moment.

According to Bruce R McConkie, it's possible not all the witch trials were conducted in error. A witch poisoned the water. She came from Salem and quietly slipped it in, then we drank of it.

I actually think the tone of the board has become more friendly lately, especially to the more religious inclined. Just my two cents, though.

Not me. I'm about as humble and modest as one can be. In fact, I'm quite sure you can't find anyone with more humility than mine.

Ceeboo,

I think is is safe to assume that your OP was prompted, in part at least, by some of my posts over on the Scandinavia thread. So, assuming that you were referring to me, at least in part, here are some questions for you.

If one provides physical evidence and states facts that happen to be inconvenient or uncomfortable for right wing religious conservatives, or happen to be contrary to the parts of their world views that are based on unfounded belief, fantasy, magic and delusion, why is that arrogant?

If one can demonstrate that their beliefs about how the world works are based on sound scientific laws, theories and observations, which are reproducible, verified, and the basis for humankind's advances in technology and general well being, must one also fein deference to religious misunderstanding and delusion so as not to be seen as arrogant by religionists?

Is it not possible for religionists to simply accept that the secularist, or the agnostic or (heaven forbid) the atheist, has the intellectual integrity to base their worldview on fact instead of fantasy and let it go at that?

Why must religionists, who deny science and progressive social change, be respected for the damage they do?

What damage, you ask?

To start with, what about the religious crusades against basic human rights with regard to race, gender, reproduction, secular education, scientific inquiry, and sexual preference?

If it turns out that you were not referring to me or my posts, then perhaps you might think about what I have said here anyway.

Peace,

DrW
