Oh, and for all you defenders of the faith that state that this is a good investment for the future. YOU ARE STUPID. The possibility of the Mormon church getting a return on their investment is (-) 1 billion.

Compare the cost of the 2,957,000-square-foot Mormon City Creek Center in Salt Lake City ( http://shopcitycreekcenter.com/ & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Creek_Center )

to the 16,797,000-square-foot Commercial City Center in Las Vegas ( http://www.citycenter.com/ & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CityCenter ) which cost 9.2 Billion reported (and that is more likely to true cost because the builder (MGM) is a publicly owned corporation).

Mormons ARE STUPID

Those apartment beds look like Hospital beds. Who is going sleep there? Two 85 years old Abuelitto Viejittos?

Sweet. Seems like plenty of money to make the best genetically modified trout in the world. I hope they allow fishing.

I guess that what happens when you combine incompetent leadership with crony-based contract awards.

That cost per square foot is INSANE! I've seen state of the art nanofab labs built for a fraction of that cost.

WOW!

And wasn't the initial cost estimate about 3 billion? Serious cost over run, there.

WOW!

Burton:

"Even more than that," was Burton's reply. "Trolley Square is a vibrant place, and certainly the Gateway is a vibrant place. I think there is room for a synergistic approach to making this a regional kind of center."

City Creek, he believes, is the only major retail mall project opening in the United States this year.

I wonder why nobody in the US is building billion dollar shopping malls? The Mormon Jesus must know something nobody else knows...

And "Synergistic" must be such an orgasmic word for Burton because truthfully, the Mormon Mall is a paradynamical Synergistic "win win" for the cult.

This is hard to believe. There is no way a mall as big as City Creek costs that much money. How could it possibly cost that much?

I'd suspect they're overpaying some crony builders. Maybe relatives of GAs?
