For Yahoo Bot

Yahoo Bot, you made this comment on another thread. Rather than derail it, I would like to start an independent topic:

Yahoo Bot wrote:Ninety-nine percent of my apostate friends leave the church. Period. Every ward has them on their rosters. The one percent, the demented ones, spend hours in front of their screens typing out rants, like Dr. Dude, against a religion in which they are no longer involved. The one percent, like our good mod Liz here, enable all this by attacking and vilifying the shy and hesitant church defenders just brave enough to wade in here long enough so that Liz can chop off their toes before she tells her bishop what a good Christian she is.

You claimed that I was of the 1% of the board who consistently attacked all of the posters who dared defend the LDS Church. If that is true, please explain to me how apologists such as Dan Peterson, Mak, BC, and myself are friends. I don't think that any of them would claim that I have personally attacked them. BC and I have crossed swords from a debate perspective but we still have a mutual respect for one another. Again, does it not seem more plausible that YOU are the one with the problem?

I love how Bot thinks that people who leave the Church should just forget the lives they invested in the institution, like it didn’t matter anymore.

That's not nice. Have you not been taught the story of the shepherd who leaves the 99 sheep to find the one. Does the shepherd call the one sheep demented?

Interesting that you would bring this up.

I listened to one of John Deluded's podcasts. A very recent one. I recall it was some seminar where he was the keynote speaker and then he was followed by others. John, in his avuncular, breathy good natured way, complained that he believed that since he made his position known to his stake president he felt cast aside, on his own, out of the community, alone, ignored and so forth. Everybody in the audience (it sounded like there were 8 people) clucked appropriately.

Then the next speaker gets up, a fellow who had resigned, a young fellow, who complained that notwithstanding his resignation, the church won't leave him alone. Home teachers, members coming by to see how he is, members greeting him in public places. The audience clucked appropriately.

Hmm. I say that the Church should welcome and embrace all and invite them back, even those who have resigned, except for anonymous posters on anti-Mormon boards such as this. And kick out mods who host this board and not invite them back. And add Simon Southerton to that list. And the fellow who broke my nose in a church basketball game.

Bot sounds very bitter.

Even more bitter than his apostate friends who can't leave the Church alone.

All the Best!

That merda goes both ways. I remember being at gospel doctrine and a few members were yucking it up about how people can leave the church but can't leave it alone. Next hour in EQ they were talking about visiting and re-activing those that did not want home teachers anymore.

Was Derrick on the opposing team?

Mr. Bot's math suggests he has an implausible number of apostate friends. Granted, 99% of his posts are openly provocative BS.

So...just to be clear...you feel that I should be excommunicated? What, exactly, is my excommunicable offense?
