Mormon Girl (a.k.a. J. Brooks),

I believe that God knows everything that has ever happened in the world, and also that God knows much of what will happen in the world, but not everything. In fact I believe that for many of us God doesn't know in advance whether we will make it to the Celestial Kingdom or not. Does that make me a bad Mormon? What do you think?

I think it's a pretty safe bet that in years past she would have been excommunicated by now.

Is there a difference between Grant Palmer and Joanna? Joanna is certainly more vocal about her issues with the church, yet the church threatened Palmer with excommunication until he resigned? Is it because Joanna rarely address her disbelief of the truth claims?

I can see a time, maybe after Romney is done and the spotlight has faded, that the church chooses to go after people like Joanna and John Dehlin.
It is my province to teach to the Church what the doctrine is. It is your province to echo what I say or to remain silent.

The sad thing is I bet they want to, but they know doing it will result in a lot of negative PR. It's a calculated decision. Perhaps you're right and they are just waiting for the opportune moment.

Joanna is beloved by many. Go after Joanna and you will have Joan of Arc.

That's correct. And she's in the public eye so often. Same reason Carol Lynn Pearson is still around...
