MIKE WALLACE interviews President Monson

Post by _Daheshist »

(This is imagination...what I'd love to see on 60 Minutes)

Wallace: President Monson, I would like to ask you, about the blacks and the Priesthood issue. Why did your Church ban black men from the priesthood until 1978?

Monson: I don't know. I just don't know the reason Mike.

Wallace: Did it have to do with Church teachings concerning blacks being less valiant in the War in Heaven, in the pre-existence?

Monson: No. Mike...no! That was never a doctrine of the Church. That was just, well, just some folklore that some Members believed.

Wallace: Did you ever believe it?

Monson: No, of course not! Hahaha! You know, I've heard that before, but, you know, of course not. That's absurd.

Wallace: Did not Mormon Church Presidents for 130 years preach from the pulpit that blacks are the cursed and inferior children of Cain, ugly, deprived of intelligence, misshapen, disagreeable in their habits, worthy only to be hewers of wood and drawers of water, worthy only to be the servants of the white man on Earth, worthy at best to become the eternal servants of white Mormons in heaven?

Monson: Well....heheheheh...no Mike! No! No! That, that, you hear all sorts of things. That was just some folklore floating around Utah for a while. That was never Church doctrine. Never!

Wallace: Did you not, President Monson, sustain men as Prophets who taught these doctrines as "doctrines of the Church", for more than 50 years?

Monson: Mike, you know, I really, you know, that was a long time ago, and if any of those brethren made some off-the-cuff remark that said some of those things, you know, they had their own opinion, but I never sustained them because of their personal opinions, but because of the divine offices they held.

Wallace: Did not your Church leaders also teach that Mormon men may become Gods, and as God once was once a man?

Monson: You know, I don't know. I don't know if we teach that. I don't know if we emphasize it. We really don't know much about that.

Wallace: Did not your Church leaders teach for many years that God the Father was an exalted white man who stepped down from His throne and came and had literal physical sex with Mary, his own spirit-daughter, to conceive the body of Jesus?

Monson: Ah, well, you know, we believe in what the Bible teaches about that, that, that Jesus is the Son of God in the most literal sense.

Wallace: Did Brigham Young teach that Adam was the father of our spirits, and the father of the spirit and body of Jesus, the so-called Adam-God Doctrine?

Monson: No! No! He was misquoted on that!

Wallace: Is it not also true that Joseph Smith married his own foster daughters, and also "married" women who were already married, the wives of men he sent on missions to England for three years?

Monson: No! Mike...c'mon!

Wallace: President Monson, the Church is building a 5 billion dollar Mall in downtown Salt Lake City, isn't it true that tithing money was used to build this mall, and isn't it also true that your own family members, and the family members of other top General Authorities, profit from the construction of the Mall because they are part-owners in the construction companies that built the Mall?

Monson: What? No! No! That....that is all just rumor. The money for the Mall comes from a special fund.

Wallace: Isn't it also true, President Monson, that DNA studies on native American tribes have proven that they have absolutely no Hebrew ancestry, as the Book of Mormon claims?

Monson: Well, I don't know much about that, but I know that DNA research is really only in its
infancy, and those studies are not conclusive at all and don't really mean anything.

Wallace: And isn't it also true, President Monson, that all top Church leaders, and also billionaire Mormons, receive a secret Temple Rite called The Second Anoiting, where they are ordained as Gods and Goddesses and can only lose their exaltation if they shed innocent blood or commit adultery, but they can do all other things, including lying for the Church, and they'll still be exalted as Gods?

Monson: Mike, c'mon! Of course not! There is no such rite! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has absolutely NOTHING to hide from the public or its Members!
