This will REALLY help Romney in Gettig votes from Minorities

Post by _The Mighty Builder »

A Florida pastor is calling on former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to denounce his religion, calling it a "racist Mormon religion."

"The purpose of this request is to foster and maintain good race relations here in America," the press release says. "The Mormon religion is prejudiced against Blacks, Jews and the Native American Indians. These allegations are substantiated and validated by the writings of the former Prophets and Seers of the Mormon Church."

Dozier will hold a press conference Monday with "concerned Clergy and other Christians" to formally and publicly ask Romney to renounce his religion.

Here's the Mormons response to the problem

The site notes that despite the faith's growth, survey results continue to show that relatively few people are familiar with Mormon beliefs. It says the church has the responsibility to publicly and clearly articulate its teachings.

It points out common media pitfalls, including reporters taking "peripheral aspects of the faith and (placing) them front and center as if they were vital tenets of belief." Or commentators overemphasizing what some may consider unusual about Mormonism at the expense of basic beliefs. The page says this "paints a distorted picture of the Church" and confuses the public. The new effort provides background information for media representatives producing stories about the church.

'Managing the Message' is from Chapter 1 in PR for Dummies.
The Church needs a more sophisticated approach if it is trying to appear honest whilst lying.

'Appear Honest Whilst Lying' is, I believe, Chapter 37...

I had a talk with this guy, and I explained to him that the teachings of the church have never been racist. He quoted me some of the stuff past prophets have said about "negroes", and all the typical anti-mormon stuff that makes the church seem like it was racist. I quoted him the current LDS newsroom statement that says the LDS church doesn't tolerate racist. I told him that since the LDS newsroom stuff is the most recent, it Trump's the past teachings. Score another win for the apologists.

You would have won better by noting that most, if not all, of his quotes were from publications the LDS Church does not and never has considered doctrinal.

The Mormon Cult has shown prior, and even recently that it is also unfamiliar with its own beliefs.

The Lord's one true radio station should have just parroted "WE DON'T KNOW. NOBODY KNOWS."

Cracks me up at how pathetically stupid it is - but it works. If it were not for sites like this - or the MC, the EMF, RFM, etc - the Cult could get away with it.

Irrelevant. The teachings of the church have been racist regardless.

this sort of dishonest BS is going to backfire.

Do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Yes. All women are daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. Women and men are equal in the sight of God. The Bible says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28). In the family, a wife and a husband form an equal partnership in leading and raising a family.

From the beginning of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints women have played an integral role in the work of the Church. While worthy men hold the priesthood, worthy women serve as leaders, counselors, missionaries, teachers, and in many other responsibilities— they routinely preach from the pulpit and lead congregational prayers in worship services. They serve both in the Church and in their local communities and contribute to the world as leaders in a variety of professions. Their vital and unique contribution to raising children is considered an important responsibility and a special privilege of equal importance to priesthood responsibilities.

The First Presidency called it "a doctrine of the Church" numerous times. I think they know better than you if the Curse of Cain Doctrine was "doctrinal".

the church pr machine is making a mistake with this one.

all of this opens up a can of worms and does not resolve any one issue whatsoever. if the media were to try and respond to all Mormon questions with this inane responses, they will get their heads handed to them by someone looking deeper.

we have discussed the racism issue, the church is on the wrong side here.

the women as leaders? gimme a break, that is not going to fly anywhere.

garden of eden is not in missouri? that was what we have always taught. it doesn't matter that we don't know exactly where in missouri. the bigger part of that is that in the articles of faith it says that zion will be established on this continent. while neither are relevant to anyone's salvation, it could become relevant when considering putting a Mormon in the white house, no?

Mormons do not believe they will share crap with god. that was never the plan. Mormons believe they will populate and lord over planets, worlds and kingdoms. since when was that not a core belief? it was never about sharing crap with god, it was about having it for yourself, even becoming such.

correct me if i am wrong, but isn't the whole point of moses 1:39 that god has many worlds, and his goal is for us to have the same? do i have that right or wrong?

the pr machine will fail on this one. if they think they control the script, and that the media will follow their instructions, they are crazy.
