Ordaining DD

Now that DD is soon to be 12, I thought it would be a good time to bring up the subject of the Aaronic Priesthood. I asked her if she would like to be ordained to receive the priesthood. She wasn't so sure about it. I even mentioned how we could look at my priestood lineage chart and trace the new power back to Jesus. Still, not much interest. Maybe she needs a little time to think about it. At least she is willing to consider it while my son is dead set against it.
It's nice to know that I have this power I can pass on to my children.

Is your son against your daughter getting the priesthood, or getting the priesthood, himself?

"...we could look at my priestood lineage chart and trace the new power back to Jesus."
From whom did Jesus get
his priesthood?
I believe that John the Baptist only had the Aaronic Priesthood. From what I understand, the whole system is pretty dependent on fleshy ordinances.

Hehe, you all make the prieshood sound like a nasty cold that you might catch. Priesthood is the authority and power to act in the name (or behalf) of God. Jesus is God. Your question is meaningless.

Tobin,
Priesthood must be passed from one mortal to another. Too bad for you if you think that is like a disease.

Umm, no. Priesthood (the authority and power of God) comes from God only. If you think you got it from a mortal, maybe you should get that looked at because any priesthood you think you may have is meaningless.

But he was also man. Jesus had to be baptized.

Actually, he didn't. He did it to honor God and to set the example for us all.

Is being a child of God insufficient to inherit this Priesthood? Does it need to be passed by Man to Man like a deed for property? Can it not transcend the the rules of chattel?
