PROVO — A 36-year-old male has been arrested after allegedly extorting a 21-year-old male Brigham Young University student for sex and money by threatening to "out" the student to his fiancé and BYU's Honor Code Office.

....

Police are asking other possible victims to come forward since Adams indicated to police he had done this before. Anyone with information can contact Detective Brian Taylor at 801-852-7328.

So, the case has nothing to do with homosexuality, closeted or otherwise, at all, but about extortion, which is normally considered to be a crime.

Its no surprise to me that a pious leftist sexual revolutionary like Jaybear who has so little understanding and regard for the constitution or what a "free society" in the classical liberal tradition means and implies, and what is required to maintain such a society's viability as a free, ordered, civil social entity, and whose bottomless definitions of "freedom" and "rights" are really nothing more than a form of moral/social licensure, would maintain that an investigation into the crime of extortion was actually a witch hunt by Provo morality police for "closeted homosexuals."

Well, its an election year, and the leftist hounds are baying, not only at the moon, but at windmills.

They may, indeed, be baying at windmills but they're tilting at the moon. Is everyone you disagree with a 'leftist'?

No. Jaybear, however, is (at least in the social/cultural sense).

No, no. I distinctly remember that Don Quixote was going around barking like a dog at the windmills he saw. I think it's because he was reading all these stories about dogs and wanted to bring back doghood. And then Sancho Panza was like the puppy or something.

Or is it that coyotes howl at the windmill?

So why didn't the perp try and extort a man in married student housing for having sex with his own wife?

Not to change the subject, but I notice that Randy Bott has stopped telling the media what the Church has in fact taught, and never repudiated, about the basis for the priesthood ban.

Nice roll of the dice, lulu, but the police have arrested a person suspected of extortion, not for being a homosexual, closeted or otherwise, and they are looking to prosecute him for extortion, not homosexual behavior.

Can we just admit that this entire argument is a pure concoction for the sake of criticizing LDS people and culture and move on.

I mean, there's nothing to see here...
