Not one single mention that he is a Prophet and talks to Jesus Christ. Not one single mention that he was ordained a Prophet when the Hinkster died.
He's just the President of a big corporation. Look at how wonderful he is.
2012 will marks an all-time high of hiding the truth with Mormonism. From white washed doctrine to "We Don't Know". Prophets aren't prophets anymore, they're Presidents. Instead of doctrines being "He was speaking as man", the mantra is now "What doctrine?"
And Mormons are doing just exactly what Romney has always done.
Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop Flip Flop.
I wonder if this new tactic came from a PR firm hired by the Cult or did one of the geriatric cult of the 12 decide it was a great idea?
Monson: "Hey Boyd. Boyd. BOYD. BOOOOOOOOOOYYYYYYDD. Somebody wake up Boyd. Ok, I have this great idea. When we are asked about embarrassing past statements by church leaders, we will just pretend like we don't know what they are talking about! Ok?"
Boyd: "What are we talking about?"

Throughout his years as a General Authority, his talks have often hearkened back to his experiences with the widows and others whom he served as bishop.

The article is more than deceptive as Monson was not sustained as an apostle, but as a prophet, seer, and revelator.
So do the TBMs on the board pay 10% of their income for Monson's ability to "get things done?" Considering the mall, not sure he can even claim that.

Fat (all bills paid) Tommy Monson caught in the back seat of his car with his personal stash on hand.

Nothing new or different about that, since he IS the boss of a multi-national corporation worth billions.

If they could just get rid of Joseph Smith, Brigham Young and.... Insert 50 other racist, misogynist leaders of the past.... Then they could be a REAL Christian Church just like everyone else!
It has got to be so hard for them. They want so bad to have the rest of the Christian world see them as Christians - but they have so many goddamn skeletons in the closet that the door is bursting at the seams.
And I feel sorry for the rank and file Mormon that is suddenly faced with a decision. Either ignore the past and all past teachings except the ones cherry picked by the Cult - or face persecution from within like BYU Prof Bott is. That is why you see the amateur apologists on this board suddenly parroting the corporate line (even DCP - a professional apologist - is doing this).
But what about Chapel Mormons? What about Chapel Mormons who are in their 50's now? What are they supposed to believe? I wonder if they ever look at their bookshelf - and see those "Doctrines Of Salvation I, II and II" and think - those are now BANNED BOOKS because, well, we don't know, we don't teach that... And they know if they DID teach that, they'd get in trouble just like Bott did. Holding all those conflicting thoughts in their heads has got to be mind numbing.
They can't have modern revelation anymore! They can't! No, because it has to go through an entire public relations firm. It has to be reviewed by an entire law firm. Jesus can't say that a woman of 14 years of age MUST marry a Prophet or be damned to hellfire and flaming swords and crap like that. They can't say that Blacks will only be servants in heaven. It isn't politically correct - and what ever isn't politically correct anymore just makes them look like the assholes they really are. So gone - GONE - is all revelation. Because Jesus Christ himself doesn't like bad PR - so everything is correlated through a dozen committees to ensure that it doesn't make them look bad on MSNBC or some other news agency.
I hope the Cult of Joseph Smith loses so many more members over the next year.
But for now, enjoy your mega billion dollar corporate shopping mall with live fish, million dollar condos and amazing electronic skylights.
In a thousand years I couldn't do as much damage to Mormonism as their inspired leaders who talk to Jesus are doing. No way.
Popcorn time.

But ... it really doesn't!
That page really doesn't say anything about him being a living prophet.
It doesn't mention the Book of Mormon.
It doesn't mention Joseph Smith.
It's really a very eery document indeed.
