AT LEAST 10 teenage boys or young men under the age of 21 were surgically castrated "to get rid of homosexuality" while in the care of the Dutch Roman Catholic Church in the 1950s.
Don't give Droopy and BC Space ideas.

That would be bad enough. But really they were castrated for speaking up after being molested by priests.

Was God on holiday when this happened?
Or was the phone busy when He tried to contact someone in authority to stop it from happening?

Mormon Cult owned Evergreen Foundation has used electroshock to try and rid the gayness away.
I'm sure the thought of castration crossed Packer's mind many times.
One day when these religious cults find out they can't pray the gay away, can't shock the gay away, can't castrate the gay away, or create racist homophobic laws - they'll either receive revelation that it's now OK, or, deny they were ever homophobic to begin with.
Mormons still can't even use the word "Gay" or "Lesbian" yet because doing so lends credence to the meaning of the word. Nope, for now they still use "struggling with same sex". I have gay and lesbian family members, neighbors and co-workers. None of them are struggling. The only ones who ever were struggling were the ones trying to stay Mormon and repressing who they naturally are because assholes like Packer tell them to.

Actually, I think avoiding teenage depression, having normal friends, and an actual loving mother and father in the home goes a long way towards preventing the homosexual condition.

Only tangentially. What happened was pedophile priests raped underage boys. The boys who spoke up about it were called gay, and in the 50s could be committed for any reason against their wills, and as punishment for speaking up against the Catholic Church they were castrated, supposedly as a way to cure them of being "gay."
They weren't actually gay, however. They were being punished to intimidate other victims into silence.
