"Dear Producers of 60 Minutes,

Please do a segment on "Romney and the Curse of Cain". The Mormon Church taught for 130 years that "Negroes" were the cursed and inferior children of Cain, and a black skin is a sign of a curse of God. The Obama crowd are going to use that against Romney! Start the segment now. A man named Darrick Evenson has all the documentation for it. His email is below. Thank you.

Daheshist

It would please me....if the Curse of Cain Cover-up was exposed to the nation by "60 Minutes".

LDS Public Affairs has been saying since 1996: "No, the Church never taught that blacks are cursed. The Church never taught they are the children of Cain. The Church never taught they are they were less valiant in the War in Heaven. Some Members may have at one time believed this folklore, but it was never a doctrine of the Church."

The Church is LYING..................and that needs to be exposed to the world.

I guess I can see where you think this would be satisfying because the LDS public would be exposed to the information on a national level. So yes, in that regard, I can see how that would be important to you.

As for the American public or the world, I don't think either gives a damn if the LDS church is lying. I think that most, if not all, churches have covered up things in the historical record, so I don't think that the public at large would be shocked to learn about the Curse of Cain doctrine or the "spin" the church has put on it.

I don't, for example, think it would have any impact at all on Romney's political future. And speaking only for myself, I don't think that Romney should be put on the spot to account for the decisions of his church.

Darrick-- your past and continuing online behavior is enough to discredit anything you might say; they will look into it, and dismiss you as a crackpot. You need to let others with a more credible internet history supply the information.

Not a put-down, just an objective evaluation.

And I agree with other posters. Romney is in the lead with those who see Mormonism and Mormon doctrine as fluid and ever-changing. It does not matter to them if the majority of LDS cannot keep up with the changes.

I had to come back with a question for Daheshist.

Do you have a desire to see Romney publicly "pay" for the "sins" of the church?

Just wondering...

Jersey Girl,

You're not going to Heaven.
You're not going to become a Goddess.
If there is a hell, you're going there.
Because you're a hypocrite, and always have been.
And always will be.
