Was anyone else here taught that many of the early apostles of the restoration were the direct descendants of Jesus?
That Mary and the progeny were whisked away into Europe or England and that Joseph Smith was the literal heir from both sides of the family to Christ making him the defacto descendant and heir to the throne, in the same sense that Jesus was king of the Jews.
Or was I the only one taught that in CES preparation classes?

I heard that from a missionary on my mission who loved to talk deep doctrine. I also learned about the "Joseph Smith is now the Holy Ghost" idea from him.

As I recall there is no clear evidence that Jesus ever married.
In fact, I double checked on Family Search.
Whilst it is clear that a large number of Jesus Christs have been registered for posthumous baptism, none of them show a marriage...

According to Brigahm Young and a few generations of geneology work, make Mitt Romney directly descended from Jesus.

Well this idea was also intimated by my mission president who later became a ga.....
If you trace Joseph Smith back far enough on family search do you hit Jesus? I ask as I have seen family trees for Joseph in many of the local church genealogical libraries that have this familiar line tracing to Jesus. It is usually a fancy framed thing on the wall.

You would have to narrow this down a bit as there are thirty plus entries on Family Search for a Joseph Smith born December 23rd 1805, Sharon, Vermont.

As far as Joseph Smith being the Holy Spirit, that is, perhaps, baloney. However, it is in the plan for all of Heavenly Father's spirit children to gain a body, and it follows that a different spirit would necessarily have to take over those duties once it became time for the current one to gain a body.
As far as Christ being married and having children, the answer is yes. He fulfilled all the commandments, including the one to multiply and replenish the earth. In fact, He had more than one wife since He instituted the higher laws, which include polygamy and the law of consecration. Unfortunately, there is only slight circumstantial evidence of this since the Biblical records are so scarce. However, I would recommend a book entitled, "The Holy Seed."

If he instituted and fulfilled higher laws... How come he did not live the wow?

I am not aware of any official source, but it is consistent with the beliefs of many who hod that He "fulfilled all righteousness." That's why I recommended "The Holy Seed" which examines this question in great detail considering the very limited evidence available.
